Would you rather: it's back

At least it is back for this week.
Last night we had some crazy storms here in North Texas. The tornado sirens went off twice and we took cover, well, sort of took cover. Our neighbor's tree came down. Our yard is flooded.

This all leads to my WOULD YOU RATHER questions for today:
- would you rather be in a hurricane or tornado?
- would you rather get struck by lightning or while walking be struck by a car?
- would you rather have your house flooded or the roof ripped off?
- would you rather be without electricity for a week or without running water for a week?

and last question, totally unrelated to this:

- would you rather have 5 days of letters from Bart or 5 of my most embarrassing moments? I am going to blog for 5 days straight on one of those topics. You get to pick.

the other half of the tree came down after I took this picture.

Once in a while the sadness returns

Today, I was searching for an email. I remember my sister Allyson sending me a website link in an email over a year ago. I keep all my emails. While searching, I came across an email from my dad.

Every once in a while I come across these and read them over and over again. It is one small way I stay connected to him. In fact, I have an email he sent me the same day he passed away. It was a silly joke he forwarded, but he only sent it to me and I know why. It was something he knew I would appreciate and understand.

I miss him and wish I could pick up the phone and call him. So today, for me, go call someone you love. Someone you haven't talked to in a while. Let them know you are thinking of them and don't let the moment pass you by.

Happy {late} Easter

I know I am behind but I wanted to share pictures from our wonderful Easter.

One of my favorite moments from that day: Gabe found an Easter Egg with $1.00 in it. He asked if Matthew found any eggs with money. When he was told that Matthew also got $1.00, Gabe said he would trade all of his candy for Matthew's $1.00. I think that was a good trade for both of them (Matthew loves candy and Gabe love money - so sad in both regards).

Here are some of my favorite pictures from that day.

Would you rather?

Has it really been that long since I posted? I guess it has.

We have had some pretty amazing things happen in our life this last month. Miracles occurred and prayers were answered. I hope to blog about it all sometime in the future.

Today I am back blogging because Allyson asked me to post a Would You Rather question and that is a pretty easy way to get back into the swing of things. So here you go.

These questions were taken from the official Would You Rather board game. (I opened it just to do this post. Does anyone want to come play it with me? I can't get anyone in my house to play games with me! Thus the reason it has never been opened)

Would you rather:
  • As a woman, wear high heels on a camping trip or have to wear Birkenstocks to the Oscar's (in plain view, of course)?
  • Have the bad habit for the rest of your life of licking your fingers excessively when you eat or have the bad habit for the rest of your life of frequently scratching your behind?
  • As a spouse taking a new name, have it be Doodoo or Klepnermierhelgenermanson?
  • Be able to walk on water for the rest of your life or fly for 3 hours on three different occasions in your life?
  • For the same amount of money, have a job you love and have to work 60 hours a week or have a job you absolutely hate but only have to work 25 hours a week?
  • Always be itchy or always feel like you have to pee?
  • Inherit $100,000 or inherit the key to and the contents of one random safety deposit box at a Swiss bank?

Confessions: Give it up

I have been thinking about Lent lately. I know a lot of people choose to give up something extra during this time. I am not Catholic but have wonder if I was, what would I give up for Lent.

I did think of quite a few things I could never give up. So for today's Sunday confessions tell us what it is you could not or would not part with for 40 days.
